Sub-District Meet

My first attempt at posting a video on the blog, hope it works.  This is Taylor running the 4x100m relay at Sub-districts in Sumner last weekend.  Next weekend it's off to Districts because they got 4th place!  Way to go Hazen girls!  This is Taylor's speed suit!  Nice...  Taylor races with three Senior girls.

Spring Baseball

Bryant is really loving this year's basball.  He has a great Coach and has made lots of friends with his teammates, good kids.  He always has a smile on his face too!  Coach pitch is way better than t-ball!
And just how cute is this?
 And this?

Spirit of the Highlander Award

Taylor was one of 98 students at Hazen Highschool to receive The Spirit of the Highlander Award.  She was chosen by her PE Teacher, Ms. Cooper.  This is what she said about Tay, "Every day I can always count on Taylor!  She faithfully asks me if I need help carrying equipment out to the gym.  I appreciate her willingness to help and her Awesome work ethic in my classroom!  Thank you Taylor!"  This came as no surprise for us, we were just hoping it would have been more on the academic side of things! Way to go Tay!

Silly Boy!

I tried to get a good photo of Bry to enter him in the Gap photo call contest!  But I couldn't figure out how to make the photo smaller, darn.  I finally did get some good ones though, what a silly boy!

Pirate Party for Bry

I must admit I had so much fun planning a pirate birthday party for my boy turning seven!  This is the island cake.  We had an explosion of rootbeer that got the cake a bit wet, see the two spots on the island part?  It still tasted just fine!  After getting our gear on, scarves, eye patches, booty bags, and hats, we started off with a story called "How I became a pirate".  Then everyone got their booty bags ready for at each game they picked up more booty!  Below they are sword fighting, we had already walked the plank and everyone made it to the other side!  Bry is fighting N. who is a big gamer and was out of his comfort zone, but I'm pretty sure he had fun!  He did keep asking if we were going to play video game...  :)
The children loved stomping on the balloons and it was really loud!
The idea behind a seven year old's party is to keep the children non-stop busy!  We played a few games then took a time out for snacks, then played more games and then had cake and icecream.  Bryant was just starting to open his presents and in walked...

Bryant was just starting to open his presents and in walked...
Captian Jack Sparrow!  Oh my gosh!  The children were so excited!  One little boy even picked up a sword and started to fight the Captain!  It was so funny!  Bryant was the only one still interested in his presents!  I got him for a group photo but, he was too busy to come back over for a photo with him and Jack!  Oh well!  I'm sure this party was a huge hit!  Yay!  Bryant's best friend Jon, showed up way late, but got to stay and play for the rest of the day!  Two happy little boys got to try out all of the new gifts!  It took them over an hour to put together a lego kit!

Pre-Easter Egg Hunts

Saturday morning we had our first Easter Egg hunt at home with Nana and Louise.  They hid the eggs in the front and back year and never fail they forget how many they've hidden!  We've decided that it is a tradition now for them to forget how many eggs were hidden!  We think the children found them all, we shall see!  After this we all headed out, they went home to Portland for a funeral and we headed to the church for our ward brunch and egg hunt.  I didn't get any photos of the church hunt, forgot and it was over so fast anyways.  I also forgot Easter morning photos, darn!

First 7th Birthday Parties!

Before school on his birthday, Bryant opened a gift.  Baseball gloves.
We had a skull cake for his birthday.  That was after the Open House and Ice cream social at his school, crazy day! Before bed he opened a couple of gifts and was super excited!

Star Wars Kinect just came out and Bryant got it as a gift and look who had to try it out with him!
Nana and Louise came down Friday night and brought more gifts!  He received some shorts and star wars ships.  We have one happy birthday boy here!
