Boston

This past weekend we headed east to upstate New York for the funeral of Todd's sister in law, Suzanne.  She was 47 years old and lost the battle with Cancer.  The funeral was beautiful and the talks were amazing!  She was such a sweet loving person.  It was so much fun for the girls to spend time with their cousin Kristina!  Bryant decided it was more fun to spend three nights with his bestest buddy, Jonathon!  They stayed up late and had so much fun together!  On Sunday we drove back to Boston, MA to site see a bit and catch our flight home.  It was a wonderful 75 degrees, sunny and oh so warm!  Our first stop was to see the USS Constitution, the first commisioned war ship for the US Navy.  It is still floating and they take it out with lottery winners on the fourth of July every year!  It was super cool!

In the distance you can see Todd, Taylor, Sydney and our tour guide.  We actually got to go down to see two different levels, good thing I'm short!
This was a WWII warship that was dry-docked next to the USS Constitution and you could only walk the deck area and into a couple of rooms up top.
Behind Sydney's back you can see a monument, tall and skinny.  It is the marker for Bunker Hill.  Todd wanted to go see it  and I told him it was probably farther than he thought it was, so we just took a photo!  The weather was amazing and to feel the sun and actually put on sunglasses was just what this girl needed!  The flight attendant announced as we were nearing Seattle that the weather was, well a crummy 35 degrees and raining!  Ha Ha!  Welcome home!

no phone

We cancelled Comcast cable and phone yesterday!  We did it, finally!  And today our land line does not work.  425-970-3926 no longer works to reach us.  Just call my cell and if you need that number email, fb, or leave a comment.  We get the local antennae channels, have hulu plus for more tv shows, netflix and ESPN 360 for sports through the Xbox.  Hopefully most shows will be covered by these and yes we are still saving about $80 a month!  Really.  I will deeply miss the foodnetwork and hgtv...

Armed Gunman Hike

My good friend Stephanie and I hike on Wednesday mornings for a couple of hours or so. We head up to Cougar Mountain because it is so close to us and gives us more time to actually hike!  The reason is I have to tutor students in math and reading at 1pm, so time is limited.  We have so much fun, talk the whole time and get exercise!  This photos is from last week's hike.  It was a bit rainy as we started our ascent and at the top is was lightly snowing.  There was about an inch of snow on the ground and it was gorgeous!  I love the snow!  I love it because I like to be able to go out in it and then go inside and be cozy and look at it out my window.  I guess that is the homebody part of me coming out!  Anyways it was so beautiful and peaceful, not a sound anywhere!  This is why we love it up there in the trees!  While we were hiking we heard a helicopter...hmmm...
Then on our way down we noticed it was still around, hmmmm, wonder what is going on?  Then as we near the carpark we notice lights.  Then as we get to the car we notice more lights, there were police cruisers everywhere!  There were armed burglars in the woods somewhere!  Somewhere, they didn't know where!  They could have been on the mountain with us, who knew.  They wouldn't let anyone leave the carpark area and so we sat for half and hour, waiting...  then all of a sudden three for four cruisers took off towards the golf course and the YMCA, I'm pretty sure they got them, because they opened up the road to the right and he left heading towards Issaquah.  Needless to say I was late for my tutoring job!  What an experience!  CrAzY!  But we survived without being carjacked! HA!  And we are heading there again today!
