Where is Bryant?

Last weekend we went to Lincoln City with Nana, Aunt Louise, and Uncle John.  Friday, Todd had to work so we sent the kids on ahead with Nana and the others, and met up in the evening.  They said it was beautiful and warm.  They played in the sand and swam at the pool.  These photos were taken Saturday morning after we checked out of the motel.  We walked next door to the main beach and played in the sand.  So here is Sydney writing in the sand and Bryant, who pulled the beach wagon around and was getting ready to help Taylor with her castle.

Nana had needed to sit down and so I walked her back near the steps to the beach to sit on this log.  Sydney stayed with her and they were watching everyone from there.  I headed back to the castle building area and a few minutes later Todd said, "Where is Bryant?".  What?  Panic, he wasn't anywhere!  I started walking towards Nana and Syd and noticed Syd wasn't there anymore... she was on the stairs leading Bryant back down to the beach with his little wagon parked at the bottom!  He was headed back to the car looking for us!  He wasn't freaking out, out of control like Syd would have been (we loose her all the time), he just had two crocodile tears in his eyes.  Hugs and kisses later and once we were all back down at the castle site, I told him how sorry I was and he said, "It's okay Mom."  Just like that!  Forgiven.  I love my little baby!

Winter Break Week Activities

We love to hike and to hike with water nearby.  Although it is only February I thought it would be okay, the kids would be smart about the cold water... wrong!  Taylor wore her sandals, Sydney was careful, but ended up with wet feet anyways.  Bryant wore his wellies (rain boots) and was okay until he walked through water that was deeper than the top of his boots!  He had a hard time walking back to the car in wet boots, and whined about it the whole way too.  There is this place and another on a different creek both about five minutes from our house that we went to all summer long to play in the water on hot days, this is what my kids ask to do everyday when the sun is out!

Riding the scooters at the elementary school, while waiting for our friends.  They do usually wear helmets, we just didn't have them with us... only scooters for some reason!

Oops!

After five minutes they finally showed up!  Sorry!

Why is my blog empty?

I just went to my blog and there are no posts at all.  Does it do this for you too, is it blank and no photos to see?

I just have to share this blog with you!

Every once in awhile the Pioneer Woman suggests a blog to read.  It is called the Nieniedialogues, look at my list of blogs to find it.  It was suggested as a romance story... so I was hooked and went to look at it!  This is a blog of a mother of four children and her life.  She and her husband were in an really bad airplane crash last August and I am reading it all backwards.  They were burned terribly and are still recovering, she is worse off than him.  She can't feed herself yet... I am at the part after the crash where readers have written in with their favorite stories of Steph ie. NieNie, Mrs. Neilsen... and I am getting to know her through these old posts of hers and loving it!  She reminds me it is fun being a mom and to cherish the little things!  I can't wait to hug my kids and tell them I love them, for no good reason!  I have shed some tears and Todd thinks I'm crazy, but go have a look and see for yourself...

Photo tagged!

Michelle tagged me for this post.  The instructions are to go to your photos, select the sixth folder and the sixth photo in the folder, then tell the story behind the photo. Then tag six of your friends.

I only had two folders... not very good at that moving photos around thing.  So I went to the sixth album and sixth photo.  This is Bryant, my very cute son when we had just moved back from England and were living in our stepsister's vacation home, it used to be her grandmother's and now she has it.  And who ever is in town stays there.  It is a cute little cottage and you feel like you will see the beach and ocean out the back window but you see a huge backyard instead!  Sydney had gotten some headbands and Bry was trying them out.  He was obsessed with them for about a week!  Thank goodness!

I tag Tari P., Kacie P., Kristina W., Jaynee W., Mandy H., Brianne S.

Pacific Science Center

We went to the Science Center with the Activity Day group from church.  This is the girls who are between eight and twelve who attend our church.  They meet twice a month and participate and learn new things... kind of like scouts, but with out the awards and tracking and all that.  We just have fun!
Bryant has his 3-D glasses on upside down and hardly wore them at all throughout the movie.  I can't remember what it was called, but it was the coral reef, like Nemo.

I am noticing that I don't have many photos of Taylor, she was always off exploring, and I was keeping an eye on Bry.  You run inside this wheel and make the water go around down below. Taylor has the crimson jacket on in the middle, leading the pack.  They all had so much fun.

Valentines

Sydney's Valentines Day Party was on Friday the 13th!  And it just happened to be Spirit week at school and Crazy hair day that day!  We started out with a mohawk of braids down the center of her head, then added another braid on each side and ended up with wacky braids all over... nice for party photos!  Here Syd is handing out her Valentines... her favorite male friend and crush, Trent, just moved to Tacoma... She is bummed.
She is concentrating on reading her Valentines. In this photo she is not feeling well from all the sugar she ate.  They had cupcakes, cookies, candy, candy with their valentines, grapes and carrots and juice boxes.  I think it is way too much sugar.  We played valentine bingo and the kids loved that!
These are my gorgeous friends from Renton.  We are having a Valentines dinner at church, which wasn't the best... the salad was yummy!  It was free though and it was fun to visit with friends.  We didn't stick around for the dancing part as I have no rhythm what so ever!  We were home by nine, such the pary animals we are!

Tay... What more can I say!

Let me try to explain Taylor... she is very smart, creative, fun, hand on, active, bored easily, cute as a button (even in her not too cute age), compassionate, caring, and a mad scientist!  The other day she said, "Mom, do you want to come see my fort?".  Sure... so we went outside into the backyard and there it was built under our ugly pine tree and around the wood pile that has no other place to be.  This is the back side.
Here she is  standing inside.  There is a bed and a carpet made out of sticks. and she used an old bed headboard that had fallen apart and pieced it together to make something, I can't remember what it was now.  It is leaning against the trampoline.  She loves to use tools, nails and screws to create and knows how to use them too.  She is a professional.  My child who is on the verge of turning twelve this spring, but is still all kid and not in any hurry to grow up, which is just fine with me!

Basketball class...again!

Hooray!  Bryant actually ran his two warm up laps without me holding his hand.  I sure hope his next class gets better.  His friend will be attending the All Sports class with him... this could be a good thing or a bad thing!  Little boys and all that testosterone! Fun, Fun, Fun!

Nice form and nice shot!  He was supposed to be shooting from the black line...oops!

Hiking, Pizza and the Wii

Saturday we headed for Squawk Mt. for a hike with friends.  It was foggy and beautiful.  We made it near the top, but the kids petered out and didn't want to go any further (It was pretty uphill the whole way). The sun came out and was streaming in through the trees, so pretty.  For some reason my girls seem to think they need to bring something with them wherever we go... Taylor brought her school binder and Sydney brought her notebook and pen.  Bryant pee'd in the forest and was slow, he got a ride down the mountain as he was too tired.
Bryant being a stinker and trying to escape the photo.
Here he is being a penguin catching fish, or as he would say...shishes.
Sydney, what a messy room!

Science Project

In Taylor's science class they were assigned to make an Atom.  She chose to make an Antimony atom.  She said hers looked pretty good compared to the others turned in.  We are so proud of her, she has all A's and a couple of B+'s.   Good job Tay!
