Random
Taylor had an assignment in Social Studies to make a prehistoric tool. This is what she came up with. She got a stick from the Snoqualmie river, a rock from our front yard that the pieces just flake off with a sharp side to them, and palm leaves from our palm tree in our back yard. Pretty cool, and all on her own. She said most people just tied on a rock and used tools to help make it, which you weren't allowed to use... I'll keep you posted on her grade. She also had to give a speech on how she created it.
Sydney's 9th Birthday week
This was the year of the Littlest Pet Shops and clothing! When we were living in Portland a couple of years ago, our neighbor and Sydney bonded. She is 87 years old and Sydney would go and talk with and sing to her often, and Ruth loved it! She must have bought Sydney four or five outfits! This child won't need any clothes for awhile now. Papa and Nana came to visit Halloween night and then the next morning we went to lunch, the kids opened presents (Nana makes sure no one is left out, the others all get one present to open), then went to see a show. We loved it! It was the Beverly Hills Chihuahua, hilarious!

Hallowee?
Did I really type Hallowee? Oops! I guess I need to slow down a bit.
I just wanted to let you know that I paid $2.19 a gallon for gas yesterday. I filled up for $29.00!!!! Isn't that just lovely! Wow!
I just finished a very interesting book called Every Breath You Take by Ann Rule. It is a true murder story. The lady told her sister that if anything ever happened to her that she was to have Ann Rule write her story. It was very interesting to go through the history, murder, the justice system and finally the verdict. I had bad dreams with this one, the last book I read that gave me nightmares was Steven King's It, when I was a teenager!

Hallowee 2008
We were invited to a Halloween themed pot luck dinner. We took "Poly-juice potion", Hungarian Mushroom soup...yummy! The funny desert was cat litter cake! Ewwww! It was good though! Our Nana and Papa came into town and joined us for dinner and trick or treating. Taylor didn't dress up this year, she wanted to be a McKnight sixth grader in her new school sweatshirt! he he! Sydney was Hermione, and Bryant was Woody!
School Harvest Party
This is Trent, he is the one teasing Sydney, see her smile? He has her little doll and is taking off the clothes and calling him silly name... boys! The kids decorated sugar cookies and little pumpkins and worked on word searches and ate chips, fruit and veg. They all had a good old sugary time. One boy even threw up at his desk, then we was fine and raring to go again!
Birthday Party at School
Sydney, my miracle baby, turned nine years old! We made cupcakes to take to school. Bryant and mom had lunch with her and the whole lunch room sang Happy Birthday to her, it was so cool! We have an "in" with the lunch lady... she is also the crossing guard in the mornings and she and Bryant have a friendship! Mrs. W. (Williamson is too long for him to say). At the end of the day we went into the classroom to celebrate and then outside to burn off some of the sugar! Some of the kids thought it was funny to get icing all over their faces. The kids found a small gartner snake on the pavement and were facinated by it, it was even striking at the kids when they got too close. The boy that is behind Syndey in the first photo, I'm pretty sure has a crush on her, he is always quietly teasing her, she loves it too!
