Church Basketball

Taylor is playing Church basketball this winter and having fun. She is in the red shorts. This was just after half time, the score was 29-1, we had the one point... then our two girls who play on the highschool jv squad showed up after practice at the school and scored eight more points for the team!
We played Skyway ward team and they were monsters! Total giants and mean too! Not good!
Poor Taylor, didn't even have a chance! We're all crossing our fingers in hopes that she will grow this year! Not too much hope with a mom who is five foot two!

Valentines gifts

This is what we made for Sydney's teacher, her piano teacher and my visiting teaching friends. They are also very cute with red, pink and white m&m's too! Taylor is way past anything cute for anyone and I guess I have one more year with Sydney as she has one more year in elementary school! But, Bry starts school next year, so I have a few more years to be creative with teacher gifts! Yeah!
Bryant had his Valentine party yesterday and he came home with nine cute little valentines from his friends at preschool! Sydney's party is tomorrow, so there will be more photos then.

My lovely laundry room!

BEFORE...
AND AFTER...

Todd built me this lovely shelving unit a couple of weeks ago and I finally got everything sorted and put away or thrown away! I love it! I actually sorted dirty laundry IN my laundry room instead of the hallway because I couldn't walk into the room! I'm so happy! The old shelves are in the hallway and that box is going away too!

Stevens Pass

We finally made it to the mountain! We gave the kids ski/snowboard lessons for Christmas and after several failed attempts to get to a mountain, we finally did it! We took our girls out of school on Friday and left the house at 6:30am-ish. We met our friends the Hansen family and dropped off the girls. This is Sydney waiting anxiously for lessons to begin. She wasn't too thrilled with the idea and yet she was brilliant! They practiced on the Magic Carpet (bunny hill) for an hour, had a cocoa break and then went up the chair lift! I was so scared for her, but she had a blast and is our little fearless kid!

Taylor and her friend R took a snowboarding class and fell in love with the sport! Her instructor said that Taylor reminded her of herself when she was starting out, athletic, excited to learn and picked it up so quickly! She also got to head up on the chair lift and did awsome! Now all she wants for her birthday is gear to snowboard!
Look at my handsome husband!
It was snowing lightly when we arrived, but the sun came out and it was beautiful! I didn't even wear my gloves it was so nice. About four pm the weather changed and a fog bank rolled in, it got cold quick! We found this bunch of trees where the snow had piled up around them creating a bowl of snow! Bryant and B had so much fun sliding down, we spent most of our time here. Janae and I took turns watching the boys and getting peaks at the kids skiing/snowboarding. The dads were able to ski on their own during the first two hours of lessons, then we stopped for lunch (the kids were fed pizza as part of the lesson package) and then the kids finished with another two hours of lessons. After lessons, the dads skied with everyone for a while. By six everyone was tired and sore! What a fun wonderful day!

Finished Project 1

Nice cheesy smile, Tay! This is the finished chalkboard wall in Taylor's room. She loves it as you can see! On the far left are some doodles from Bryant, his people... My laundry room is a work in progress still. I need Todd to help me carry out the old shelves so I can get a photo to post, coming soon. I just love my handy husband!

Work in Progress...

A few months ago we went to dessert at some new friends and saw that they had a chalkboard wall in their house, and that was all Taylor could talk about! Taylor received chalk board paint for a Christmas present from Gpa & Gma Jensen this year and so she painted a wall in her room on her own... she got the ceiling, other wall and carpet too. I was busy at the time and she just couldn't wait for me to help her. This is after one coat of paint. I went and bought another quart of paint and I painted two more coats after this photo was taken. The dark brown in the middle of the photo used to be a tree trunk, she never finished with the tree leaves. She has a jungle theme and has an elephant and monkey she painted on the other walls.
Sorry about the turned photo, I get it all fixed in my I-photo, but when I pull it from there it still looks like this and is flopped. So the other project of the past couple of weekends is this room...my laundry room. As you can see, I have a tiny pathway to the washer and dryer and the rest is a big mess. Todd said he'd make me some shelves to get organized...
Two weekends ago, he bought and made all the cuts in the wood...stay tuned for final results, I'm still working on the organizing thing!
