Anderson Island lake house

Last Saturday we went to Anderson Island for the day with friends and the weather was perfect and it was so much fun!  After lunch we headed to the center of the island to a lake where they had so much to play on!  There was the little kiddie area above with a small slide.  Then a bit further out was a dock you swam to with another slide, the big kids loved this one!
Once Bryant decides to play in the sand, that's it, he won't do anything else!  Here he is having so much fun with his friend Troy, in red.
The funniest thing about Bryant and water is that he covers his eyes when he goes under water!
A little bit further out was another double decker deck with two sides open that you jumped from!  I was so scared and only did it once!  Here is Todd and his friends jumping together!

After dinner the fire was built and the s'mores were made.  Todd burned my sandal while trying to dry it out... sad.  We had a great day with friends!  All summer long I have felt like I have two children... Taylor had soccer tryouts and a dance that she wanted to attend this time.  My girl is a teenager for real!

More Lake Kachess photos.  It was a nice warm day when we went to spend time in the water.  We bought a little raft and it was a hit!  The kids loved it.

Here are the lifeguards on duty!
Some of the big kids floating.  A lot of people got really sunburned on this day, luckily my kids didn't.  Going to the pool paid off by already being tan!  Fun times, but we will be bringing the boat next year!

Camping at Lake Kachess

Last week we headed east on 90 towards Easton to Lake Kachess for a ward campout.  We were near the Robinson, stucki, and Jacob's families.  The kids brought their bikes, we hiked and had a fun Friday night skit and joke night with the May Creek ward in a nearby camp area, a short walk.  I'm bringing the wagon for the chairs next year.  This is our campsite and we tried hashbrown patties this time and it was so good and easy!
Gary Jacobs took us on a hike to a lookout, it was short but steep and the view was gorgeous!  I didn't realize just how big the lake was.  We will bring the boat next time as we were told there is cliff diving somewhere not too far up the lake from where we were.

Taylor carried Lucy the Robinson's dog up and down the mountain, too funny!  That dog is way too pampered!  Todd was a bit bored as he didn't fish at all, but if we come again the boat or pontoons will be with us.

July Fun

The past three years we've purchased Henry Moses Aquatic Center passes, you only need to go six times to pay for itself.  We love it and go a few times a week!  They have a wave pool, lap pool, kiddie pool, lazy river and two water slides!  And guess who is finally tall enough to go on the lazy river and water slides?  Bryant is finally tall enough, Yay!
Last week we met some friends at Vasa Beach Resort on Lake Sammamish.  It is pretty small and you pay to get in, which makes it not too crowded.  The kids had fun.  There are marked off swimming areas and then you can swim out to the dock which has two diving boards and two water slides!  So much fun!  My kids are on the left, Taylor brought a friend.

Look at Bryant's little feet sticking out of the water... it was so hard to gauge when he'd show up!  Too funny!

YW Camp

I was really happy when I was asked to be the Third Year Level Assistant Leader this year at YW Camp.  I wanted to be there because it was Sydney's first year, just in case she missed me and got homesick, and Taylor was on her fourth year hike and I wanted to be there when she returned.  I was at the Rock wall with the third years and raced back when we heard they were on their way back!  When I got there we all make a tunnel for them to run through and Taylor was no where to be seen!  I asked one of her leaders if she forgot to bring her home with her... apparently, being the stinker she is, she ran away from the tunnel and towards the river and was coming back when I finally found her.  What a party pooper!  So up above is Sydney and her friends doing morning aerobics at 6:46am!
Here she is participating in the Polar Dip in freezing cold river water!  Once was enough for her!  Some people do it every morning.
Camp was so much fun and it was nice to be there for Sydney to find me and check in!  I got a hug and kiss every night from her.  She stepped on a dead bee at home before she came to camp and the stinger didn't come out and Todd told her to ice it.  So all week she had to deal with a festering stinger stuck in her foot, poor girl.  Taylor, after the hike we had a day and a half at camp together and I'd see her every once in awhile.  She would never admit, but she'd come by to see how I was doing...  :)  No pictures though.

Swim Party

Grandpa and Grandma bid and won a pool party at a church auction!  We had so much fun!  It was upper 90's and even the water was bath warm!  The diving board was the biggest hit!  Everyone took their turns perfecting the flip.
Below, Todd's back flip turned into a belly flop!

By the end of the night, Taylor figured it all out and had a great back flip!
Here is Sydney chickening out at the last minute and just jumping in!
Bryant cracks me up...he is plugging his nose and covering his eyes!  He does this when he goes underwater, too funny!
