"Enough already, let me go!!!" But my baby.... I sure hopes she is having a great time! What is in the green buckets, you ask? That is their snack/goodie stash for the week. It has to be sealed so the critters won't break into them! And they have to stay outside the cabin, all in a row!
Some of you may know that Bryant has been obsessed with trains for two years now and he spent a lot of time following the trains around the tracks. He is looking to see if it would come back through the tunnel... It kept going around the track and you followed it through hallways until the end. Of course going to a museum with children is always a fast run through! I didn't get to read one sign.
We always have to make it to Roy Aquatic Center. This water park is so cool! There is a smaller area that slopes down to about a foot deep with a slide for the little ones, a larger sloped area with a water play structure and slide, two big water slides, a large lap pool and a diving area. We packed lunch, spent three hours there and got burnt! A lesson learned... when using spray sun screen lotion, spray area until wet to know for sure you got yourself covered!!! This is Bryant and his cousin L.
It must have been upper nineties and we took a break with icies to cool down a bit.

Years ago Grandma taught my girls how to make Holly Hock dolls out of the flowers. This year Sydney and her cousin M. were making them. The toothpicks are the arms of the doll.
I did bring my laptop so the kids could watch movies on and off, since there wasn't a TV. When we first got there, Sydney jumped into this chair and then noticed a dead mouse lying on the floor in front of her! We found another one on the stairs to the basement. This "cabin" was fully functioning and even had sulferic water! Showering in rotten egg smell was a treat! Drinking it was even better... memories!
I bought a bead kit, the one that you place on the pokey board and then iron to melt them together... a huge hit! The kids used more than 3/4 of the beads, fun!
We are watching a deer near the sheds.
Just relaxing! I got a nice tan out of the week there...
Our cousin Jaden showed Bryant her favorite rock throwing spot and they had a blast throwing rocks into the river.
Believe it or not, but Sydney is our dare devil! She loved riding the mini quad, until she crashed into the shed, that is!
Taylor loved fishing in the creek and is trying to get unhooked from the branches in the water...
This is what I got... a tick bite! I was taking a shower on a Tuesday morning and felt something on my back. I wiped my hand over the spot for a second time to see what it was... a bug, a bug!!! So I grabbed it and it stuck to my finger, gross! I luckily thought to save it on the edge until I was done to show someone else. It was a tick! So there I am standing all wrapped up in my towel freaking out, while my brother in law did surgery on me in the middle of nowhere with a safety pin! They could see the head, but couldn't get to it. I not knowing what I was doing by ripping the bug off of me had left the head inside my body! Had I known, you are supposed to heat up the bug, so it will back itself out, then you kill it! Ugh! So two days later, my Dad used his magnifying glasses to do surgery once again on my shoulder/back and did get it out. By this time the head had turned white-ish and how he found it, I will never know. Gross!!
This is where we held the Ryan Family Reunion in Troy, Oregon. The "cabin" and out buildings are to the left of the river at the bend. It was so beautiful and peaceful there and we were lucky to not have seen a rattle snake! It was a long week, but really fun!
You just don't see fun equipment like this anymore... too dangerous! Whatever! The kids loved it. You pump it back and forth and it spins you faster and faster around!
This is the little creek near the house that ran into the river further down. Hmmm... should we build a dam? Yes, let's do! Once the kids started, Uncle Cliff, Uncle Daniel and Grandpa had to get involved to make sure it was made correctly. Bryant just wanted to throw sticks and rocks and kept hitting everyone first, then the water.
My sister brought water pistols, but Bryant had more fun just dumping on his head.
We had to sing twice, or at least start over as the candles blew out with a breeze that came by! Look at those nice raspberry plants behind Todd, don't they look nice? We are actually going to get a nice berry harvest this year!
In this photo some of the Dads are trying to figure out how to get the pinata ready for hits again! It had fallen off once before and now they are trying something else, using Taylor's tetherball pole. The pinata is a football and it was stuffed with good chocolate candy, not the normal stuff with junkie toys and candy.
Todd is about to pitch Taylor the football, she did hit it and broke it a bit, but then we just broke it open and tossed it onto the ground where there was a mad dash for candy! Like our nice wood pile right in the middle of our backyard? It is the first thing you see when you look out the door! U G L Y! After vacation, I am moving it to a corner of the yard...
